Grief is a normal reaction to loving and losing. When we lose something or someone we love, the natural way to respond is to grieve that loss. There is nothing wrong with grief.
Grief looks different for everyone, and even looks different from day to day, and hour to hour.
When you are grieving, you might have trouble remembering things or completing tasks. You might not want to get out of bed, or not get into bed. You might dread going to work. You might avoid activities you once enjoyed. You might find that many things feel superficial. You might feel sad, guilty, angry, hurt, confused, relieved, tired, or any other emotion. You might feel depressed, anxious, traumatized, scared. Your body might ache.
All of this is normal. All of this is grief.
It’s ok to grieve.
